Initially, the idea of fundraising came from the private initiative of Mikhail Veklenko, who is an urbanist by profession. In October 2023, in cooperation with architects, lawyers, economists, and activists based in Armenia, he launched a renovation and reconstruction program for the shelters of refugees from Artsakh. As a result, numerous shelters and houses were successfully renovated and provided to the refugees. 
The range of the required support, and the need for a smart organization of financial resources, led the initiators to look for a more comprehensive and systematic approach, taking into consideration that the return of forcibly displaced Armenians to Artsakh currently is not realistic. Eventually, the initiative led to the establishment of the foundation.
The vision of the foundation aims at continuously fostering economic growth and development and bringing prosperity to Armenia itself.

The TUN Foundation’s current focus is on purchasing land in Armenia, providing it free of charge to individuals and families from Artsakh, so they can build their new homes with the support of other charity organizations or governmental programs.

In addition, the land can be used for both housing and agricultural purposes, as the majority of the displaced families were part of rural communities in Artsakh and were actively engaged in farming.

In other words, the foundation ensures their potential activeness in agriculture and sustainable source of income, facilitating their integration into the local community and economy.

Our Mission:

TUN (Armenian word, meaning home) foundation was founded in 2024. As a newly established foundation, it has a specific mission: the empowerment of the people from Artsakh by providing the ones in need with permanent homes in Armenia and with necessary assistance.

Our Vision:
